"True Blue" Documentary Screening

The Forum 11:15 a.m.

Bring your lunch and join us in the forum as we welcome Indian filmmaker Swati Dandekar for a screening of her documentary film True Blue (Neeli Raag) with Q&A to follow.

This event is free and open to the public.

About the film: True Blue is the story of indigo, India’s most precious natural dye, which was lost to the events and processes of history. A century later, as the world begins to seek natural dyes once more, it is back in the spotlight. Neeli Raag (True Blue) tells the story of the stubborn dreamers who kept it alive through the years of oblivion.
Join us for a screening of the documentary, followed by a
conversation with the filmmaker, Swati Dandekar. Swati is based
in Bangalore with a special interest in creating visual narratives
of the living history of people, places, ideas, traditions, and
practices. She also teaches film at the Srishti Institute of Art,
Design and Technology, Bangalore.
