Get It! Information Delivery
Get It! from the Tompkins Cortland Library is a request and delivery service open to anyone with a current Tompkins Cortland ID or community borrower's card. You can request books, articles, videos, and other items. We will do our best to get it for you as quickly as possible.
Your Get It! Account
Tompkins Cortland students, faculty and staff have a Get It! account. Log in using your myTC3 username and password.
Community member accounts are created when you sign up for a Tompkins Cortland Library Card. Once you receive your card, log in using your Tompkins Cortland Library ID number as both your username and password.
The first time you log in you will see your Personal Information Verification page. Please confirm the accuracy of the information we have on file and make any necessary changes. Click on the Submit Information button.

Books and Media
Tompkins Cortland Library Catalog – Start your search here. If you find something you want, click the Get It! button below the title. Log in, check to make sure that’s what you want, then click Submit Request. We’ll take care of the rest.
Can’t find it in our catalog? You can expand your search results to include items in other libraries by selecting an option from the Change Libraries menu on the left side of the page. The request process is the same, just click Get It!
Want some other options? Get It! is also available in WorldCat, a global database for searching libraries worldwide. Click on the title of the item you want, select Full Text or Interlibrary Loan, then Request This Item.
Journal and Newspaper Articles
The Library has access to thousands of online journals and newspapers. Many of these titles have immediate full-text access while others provide summaries or abstracts of an article. Get It! can be used to request articles. Click on the title of the article and look for the request link. Articles will be sent electronically to your Get It! account.
Tompkins Cortland students, faculty and staff can access these databases off campus by logging in with their myTC3 credentials or their Tompkins Cortland ID number. Community members can access these databases by visiting the Library.
Renewing Your Items with Get It!
If the item you requested is not available within the College Library collection we may choose to borrow it, on your behalf, from another library via Interlibrary Loan. Loan periods for these items are determined by the lending library and may vary in length. You can request to extend the loan period of these items through your Get It! account.
Tompkins Cortland Library Delivers
Tompkins Cortland Library now offers FREE delivery and return service for borrowed materials. This service is open to all Tompkins Cortland students (except those living in residence halls), faculty, staff, concurrent enrollment, extension center, distance students, and community members.
You will receive an email from us once your item is available. Come to the Library to pick it up. Bring your library card. If you prefer to have the item mailed to your local address reply to the email and include your mailing address. We'll send it out at no cost to you. Please factor in an additional day or two for local delivery once we receive your request.
When you're ready to return your items you can drop them off in person, use our after hours book drop, or request a prepaid return shipping label. To request a return shipping label log into your Get It! account and select Return Shipping Label from the left hand menu. Select the items you want to return and submit.
You will receive an email from us with a prepaid shipping label attached. Print it out and use it to send back your materials.
Your TC3 Card is required when you pick up items at the Library Service desk. We will notify you through your College email or community member email account when your item arrives.
We reserve the right to limit requests depending on the number of items requested, the time of year, copyright regulations, and the extent of the library's own collection.
