College Website Recognized by SUNY

Bob Edgecomb holding SUNYCUAD award

Tompkins Cortland Community College’s website has been named one of the best in the state. The website (tompkinscortland.edu) was recognized by the State University of New York Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD) at the 2019 annual conference in Saratoga Springs. The competition was open to all websites produced at the 64 SUNY schools. The Best of Category award went to SUNY New Paltz for the New Paltz Magazine website. Tompkins Cortland and SUNY Potsdam each earned Judges’ Citations for their main college websites.

The SUNYCUAD Awards for Excellence Program was created to identify projects that have achieved outstanding results through good planning, well-conceived goals, and effective solutions, to share models of performance throughout the SUNY system, and to reward institutions and individuals for their singular achievements. The Excellence in Websites category recognizes the best in web design and content at institutions that manage their sites through in-house staff.

Tompkins Cortland’s website went through a comprehensive redesign in 2019, with the new site launching in August. The website was the product of the College’s Marketing and Communications team, with associate director of communications Robert Edgecomb (pictured with award above) leading the project before his retirement. The College’s website team consists of Director of Communications Bryan Chambala, Graphic Designer Jennica Petrella-Baum, Social Media and Marketing Coordinator Marlo Colletto, Project Assistant Jada Mister, and Public Information Officer Peter Voorhees.
