New Partnership Established with Wells College

Tompkins Cortland Community College and Wells College have a new articulation agreement that provides Tompkins Cortland graduates a direct transfer path to Wells College. The agreement was formally signed into effect by officials from both colleges, including Tompkins Cortland President Orinthia Montague and Wells President Jonathan Gibralter.

The agreement guarantees admission into Wells College for graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or better from most degree programs at Tompkins Cortland. Students moving into a parallel degree program at Wells will be guaranteed junior standing and several very generous scholarships will be available for Tompkins Cortland graduates, including the Wells College Transfer Scholarship, the Presidential Scholarship, and the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for students who are members of Tompkins Cortland’s honor society.

“There’s a long-standing tradition of our students transferring to Wells College,” said Tompkins Cortland Transfer Coordinator Heather Stevens. “Students receive an excellent academic foundation here that prepares them for success at Wells. This new articulation agreement is indicative of the strong relationship between our two institutions, but more importantly, it will help successful Tompkins Cortland students become successful Wells students. This truly makes for a seamless transfer experience.”

“The partnership between Wells and Tompkins Cortland will provide students with a vision for next steps in their education,” said Kishan Zuber, Vice President for Enrollment Services at Wells College. “It’s a road map that helps students navigate the countless opportunities of an undergraduate degree.”
