Janita Moricette is an Instructor of Business and Psychology. She received her A.S. IN Liberal Arts - General Studies and her A.S. in Sport Management from Tompkins Cortland Community College. She then went to get her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Empire State College in Business Management and Economics with a minor in Marketing. Janita obtained her M.B.A. from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Janita is originally from the Bronx in NY and a die hard NY Knicks fan. She will happily challenge anyone that speaks badly about her team! Janita has worked everywhere from the Apollo Theater, to the Statue of Liberty, to the William George Agency, and back to Tompkins Cortland Community College. She is a true lover of sports and music, having come from an extremely musically inclined family. Family is of the upmost importance for her and she believes that families are not just those you are born into but also the ones you create. Tompkins Cortland Community College has helped Janita not only figure out her dreams, but it allowed her to create the ultimate path for her to attain them.

Some years ago, Tompkins Cortland Community College noticed that the faculty employed did not reflect the diverse population of students, so they put together what was called the Emerging Scholars program. Emerging Scholars was geared to attract, retain, and employ a more diverse faculty. Janita is a product of this amazing program and is even more proud to be teaching at the institution where she once was a student. Tompkins Cortland is where she grew from a girl to a woman, from a student to Instructor, and from a dreamer to a believer. Are you ready for this journey? If so, find her so you can LEVEL UP!
