For All New and Transfer Students

Complete the online pre-orientation modules - Due by Friday, August 23

Register for Orientation - Required in-person Orientation on Saturday, August 24th

Move-in Day for Resident Students

Important Dates

While Orientation is primarily for new students, all students are invited to join Orientation Week Activities!

Friday, August 23

• 12-5pm: New Student Residential Move-In

Saturday, August 24

• 8am - 12pm: New Student Residential Move-In
• 11am-5:30pm: In-person New Student Orientation - required for all students
• Parents and families are encouraged to attend these events in our Athletics facility with their student. Students with children are welcome to bring them along, too!
  • 11am-12:25pm: Resource Fair – Opportunity to connect with college and community resources.
  • 12:30-1pm: Convocation – Welcome from College President, Provost, and Student Trustee in the Athletics Complex Gym
  • 2:45-3:15pm: Parent & Family Session – Join college staff for a Q and A style panel.
  • 4:45pm: Community BBQ – New students, faculty and staff, and families are invited to a free barbecue to end the day outside the cafeteria. Email orientation@tompkinscortland.edu with questions or concerns.

Sunday, August 25

• 8am-12pm: Returning Student Residential Move-In Day
• 1-5:30 pm: New Student Orientation Day 2 – required for resident students
• 5:30-7:30pm: Food Truck
• 7:45-11pm: Welcome Back Bonfire at The Residence Hall's Panther Bluff

Monday, August 26

• First day of Classes

Wednesday, September 4

• Get Connected Fair | Learn more about local resources and Tompkins Cortland clubs, activities, and student support services
