Tutoring General Information
Tutoring is available in the Library on the 2nd floor of the Baker Commons. Currently, all tutoring services is being offered online through Microsoft Teams.
Tutoring is available in person (drop-in and by appointment for certain math and computer science classes only), online, and by self-help. All appointment requests need to be directed to Scott Bennett, Coordinator of Tutoring and Accommodation Services, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Check the Tutoring Schedule link to verify that your desired subject will be covered at the time you plan to be here as schedules change occasionally due to illness.
If you don't see what you're looking for, PLEASE ASK!
What does it cost?
Tutoring is free to current Tompkins Cortland Community College students on a drop-in, first-come, first-served basis. We do ask students to sign in (and out) so that we can keep data on our services to receive some state funding.
What do I need to do?
- Come On In: You are welcome to come study or work on homework. Please bring your ID. Sign in when you arrive and out when you leave.
- Come Prepared: Before asking for help, spend some time with your work so that you have a better sense of what you need help with. Bring a copy of your assignment with you.
- Take an active role. Don’t expect to sit back and "leave the driving to us." You will learn more when you are an active participant so let us guide you and not drive you.
- Be patient and respectful toward the tutors and students. We will try to help everyone who comes in for help, but at times, you might have to wait a few minutes. Try to plan enough time in your schedule.
