Class of 2026 Profile: TC3 Brought New Experiences and Created New Memories
Baseball took him far from home, to a place that was quite different from home. “One of the biggest challenges for me was going to a whole different country and being far away from my friends and family back home,” said Logan Meerburg, a native of Ontario, Canada, and a member of TC3’s Class of 2026.
“I was quite nervous when I first arrived, but my roommates and teammates were very friendly and made me feel very welcome.”
He quickly settled in with new friends, but even though he grew speaking both English and French, taking classes in English was new. “This was the first time I’ve ever learned in English,” he said. “I’ve been attending school in French my whole life, so this was definitely a different learning experience.”
While he left his family and hometown friends North of the border, he found new sources of support at TC3. “I’d like to thank all of my teachers for always believing in me and always helping me out when I needed it,” he said. “I’d also like to thank Amy Voorhees, our athletic trainer, for her enormous help in my recovery from injuries. She’s been amazing making sure that all our athletes can perform at the highest level and can recover properly from our injuries.”
With support from everyone at the College, he excelled both in the classroom and on the field. He made the Dean’s List multiple times, including his first semester and was named the Graduate of Note for the Sport Management program. All while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
“One of my favorite memories here was when I hit my first homerun. I’d never hit one so being able to finally get one was very special,” he said. “Another one of my favorite memories was going on our Florida spring training trip this year. It will be an experience that will stick with me for the rest of my life.”
