Dara Riegel Named Employee of the Month

Dara Riegel, Assistant Director for Employer Relations and Experiential Learning, is the first Tompkins Cortland Community College Employee of the Month for 2026. 

Riegel was honored for taking the initiative to provide support to students, quite often going beyond her formal job responsibilities. She has a passion for career development, reaching students with direct career-related programming including workshops and class visits. She creates opportunities to connect students with employers in the community, helping create clear pathways to employment after they graduate from TC3. Her commitment to student placement and career readiness was cited by one nominator, as was her tenacity. Another recognized Riegel for having a significant impact on campus every day, praising her for making a meaningful contribution to TC3’s mission.

The Employee of the Month program recognizes individuals who exemplify the values and mission of the College with their outstanding service and attitude. Nominations for the award are accepted from students, staff, or members of the community.

As the Employee of the Month, Riegel receives a gift certificate to a local business, a TC3 Employee of the Month tumbler, and exclusive use of the Employee of the Month parking spot.
