Ribbons Cut on Panther Welcome Center and Student Opportunity Programs Suite

March 24, 2026

The Tompkins Cortland Community College campus celebrated the completion of a pair of newly renovated spaces with a midday ceremony on Tuesday that featured two ribbons being cut. The event featured the newly remodeled Panther Welcome Center and the Student Opportunity Programs Suite, with both ribbons cut simultaneously following an enthusiastic countdown from the crowd of students and staff on hand.

The Panther Welcome Center is the first space people encounter when entering the main campus entrance. It is located in room 101 and is designed to be the “front door” to the College where people can find a welcoming environment with friendly faces and answers to their questions. The one-stop model brings key services together in one location so students can receive needed support more easily and efficiently.

The Student Opportunity Programs Suite is located in room 216 at the top of the grand staircase located just outside the Panther Welcome Center. The Suite is home to three student-centered departments: Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP), Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), and Global Initiatives. The three departments have been brought together from separate locations across campus to provide students in any of the programs one shared collaborative and vibrant space.
