TC3 and RIT Sign Transfer Agreements

TC3 and RIT Sign Transfer Agreements

March 26, 2026

Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) have announced three new transfer agreements that provide TC3 graduates a direct transfer pathway into bachelor’s degree programs in the RIT Saunders College of Business. The agreements were signed by TC3 President Amy Kremenek and Saunders College of Business Senior Associate Dean John Tu at a ceremony on the Dryden campus.

“We have enjoyed a long relationship with RIT, with our two institutions already sharing highly accomplished alumni. This new agreement provides a well-defined pathway for more TC3 graduates to realize the opportunity posed by completing their bachelor's degree at a top-tier university," said President Kremenek. "With this agreement, TC3 graduates earn acceptance into the Saunders College of Business with full junior status, which is critical because it will help them achieve their degrees without the burden of taking extra classes that cost them time and money. I am grateful for the work done at both institutions to formalize our strong relationship and to realize the benefits that our graduates will experience.”

The agreements apply to students in three different programs at TC3: accounting, business administration, and hotel and restaurant management. Students will transfer into three programs at the Saunders College of Business: accounting, business, and hospitality and tourism management.

"Transfer agreements play a critical role in higher education. They provide students with clearly defined academic pathways, ones that articulate and provide certainty throughout the transfer process. For a student this agreement sends a powerful message - that your hard work matters, your credits count, and your goals are within reach," said Edwin Torres, professor and chair for Department of International Hospitality and Service Innovation at RIT. "We look forward to welcoming TC3 students at RIT and hope that this agreement will communicate RIT's commitment to provide a welcoming community and the necessary support for students to succeed.”
