TC3 Honors Veterans
The Tompkins Cortland Community College community took a moment this week to pay tribute to those who have served our country in the military by hosting a Veterans Celebration on campus. Monday's event began with the Dryden American Legion Post 1134 Honor Guard at the College’s flagpole and continued inside with a lunch and remarks from President Amy Kremenek, TC3 Board Chair Judy Davison, Tompkins County Legislator Mike Lane, and TC3 Student and Veteran Cody VanHubert. The Mayor of Dryden, and representatives from Cortland County government and Assemblymember Anna Kelles’ staff also attended to join in paying tribute to veterans and their families.
“TC3 has a history of supporting veterans and their families, but this is a chance to say thank you in a very public manner to the entire group for their service and sacrifice,” said TC3 President Amy Kremenek. “We are extremely grateful to our nation’s veterans for their service and their leadership, and our students who are veterans add a great deal to our classrooms, labs and studios, and to our campus community.”
The event was a partnership of the TC3 College Senate, Diversity and Equity Action Council, Student Government Association, and American Dining Creations. It was sponsored by the TC3 Foundation, Groton Rod and Gun Club, Bailey Place Insurance, Dryden Veterans Memorial Home, and Scouting America.
