Transfer Requirements
This agreement allows seamless transfer from TC3’s Health Sciences A.S. into SUNY Upstate Medical University's College of Health Professions bachelor-level programs in Medical Imaging Sciences/Radiography (X-Ray) B.S., Ultrasound B.S., Radiation Therapy B.S., and Respiratory Therapy B.S.
Eligibility & Terms
TC3 students accepted to SUNY Upstate will be guaranteed full junior standing upon transfer, provided they have completed all prerequisite courses for their intended program and met all other requirements included in this agreement.
- All four B.S. programs — Medical Imaging Sciences/Radiography, Ultrasound, Radiation Therapy, and Respiratory Therapy — are two-year, full-time programs that begin in the fall semester only.
- Clinical components vary by program and students are responsible for their own transportation to all clinical sites:
- Respiratory Therapy, Radiography, and Ultrasound: regional clinical placements generally within an hour of Syracuse.
- Radiation Therapy: students complete 42 weeks of clinical training beginning the summer after Year 1 in assigned regions (Central NY, Western NY, Hudson Valley/Capital District, North Country, Southern Tier).
- Students admitted through this agreement must still meet standard non-academic, pre-matriculation requirements, including background check and health clearance.
Benefits
- Priority consideration for TC3 students who apply by late November of their sophomore year.
- Optional Early Assurance Program for high school seniors who plan to enroll at TC3 and eventually apply to one of Upstate’s four bachelor-level health professions programs.
Notes
- Minimum grade for all prerequisite courses is “C”, though grades of B or higher are preferred.
- Science prerequisites must include laboratories, except General Chemistry I for Radiation Therapy and Biology electives (excluding A&P I) for Respiratory Therapy.
- Medical Imaging Sciences/Radiography and Ultrasound have the same prerequisites as shown in the table below.
- Students planning to take prerequisite courses outside TC3 must receive prior approval from the program Admissions Advisor at Upstate (admiss@upstate.edu)
