Tobin Returns to Alma Mater to Lead TC3 Foundation

July 16, 2026

Tompkins Cortland Community College has appointed Kelly Tobin as Chief Advancement Officer and Executive Director of the Tompkins Cortland Community College Foundation. She started in the position this month.

Tobin comes to TC3 after serving as the executive director of the Cortland YWCA for more than a decade. In her new role, she will head TC3’s alumni relations efforts and will be responsible for leading fundraising and private philanthropy to support the College and its students.

“We’re thrilled to have Kelly Tobin join TC3's senior leadership team in this critically important role. She brings extensive leadership experience, and as a TC3 alumna, she is uniquely positioned to share the transformative effect that TC3 has on students and our community,” said TC3 President Amy Kremenek.  “The work of the TC3 Foundation is vital to our College and our students, and Kelly is both highly committed and well prepared to achieve remarkable levels of success.”

“Kelly brings proven leadership skills and enthusiasm for the mission of the TC3 Foundation to her new role,” said TC3 Foundation Board Chair Janet Morgan. The TC3 Foundation, which was founded in 1978, has a mission of securing resources to enhance learning opportunities, something they have done for thousands of TC3 students through the years. “All of us on the Foundation Board of Directors look forward to working with her in supporting the success of the College and its students.”

Tobin is extremely active in the community, serving on the boards of the Seven Valley Health Coalition, JM Murray, and the Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce. A TC3 graduate (Class of 2001), she won TC3’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019 and received statewide recognition by receiving the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award for Civic Contribution from the New York Community College Trustees.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Chief Advancement Officer and Executive Director of the Foundation. As a proud TC3 alumna and the parent of a TC3 alumna, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me,” said Tobin. “Community colleges transform lives every day by creating opportunities for students, strengthening the workforce, and serving as a catalyst for our region. I look forward to building relationships with our alumni, donors, students, and community partners as we work together to expand access to education and ensure students have the support they need to succeed."
