Steps to a Successful Transfer

Ready to plan your next step?

After you complete your first two years at TC3, you can continue toward your bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. Follow these 3 easy steps to plan your transfer:

1. Research & Choose Your Next School

  • The first step is to research and choose a college or university that best aligns with your academic goals and program requirements. Use resources like  SUNY, CUNY, CICU, BigFuture, and GoAbroad to explore a wide range of options, compare programs, and learn about admissions criteria.

  • You can also review TC3’s list of transfer agreements to identify partner colleges and universities, which may offer smoother transfer pathways and additional benefits.

2. Apply & Sumbit Transcript Requests

  • Application fees typically range from $50–$80, though fee waivers may be available, so it’s important to review each school’s application website for eligibility and instructions.
  • Applications may also require an essay, a recommendation letter, and sometimes a portfolio, interview, or audition depending on the program.
  • Next, request your official transcripts from every college you’ve attended by contacting each institution directly; for TC3, this can be done through MyTC3 by accessing Self Service, selecting Grades, and submitting a request through Parchment, which requires an $8 fee.
  • In addition, you’ll need to provide proof of high school graduation by contacting your high school and asking them to send your final transcript.

3. Explore Funding Options

  • Once you have applied to your school of choice, visit our Financial Aid and Scholarships page to explore funding options such as grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study.
  • Our Financial Aid page will also walk you through the application process, including how to complete required forms like the FAFSA, understand eligibility requirements, and track important deadlines, helping you stay organized and maximize the financial support available to you.
