This agreement allows seamless transfer from TC3's Sustainable Farming & Food Systems A.A.S. into Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Agricultural Sciences B.S. program.
Eligibility & Terms
TC3 students in the Sustainable Farming & Food Systems A.A.S. program who meet the following criteria will be given priority consideration for admission to the CALS Agricultural Sciences B.S. major:
- All required coursework for the intended CALS Agricultural Sciences major must be completed or in progress at the time of application, with grades of B or better. See course mapping below.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required, and students must be making satisfactory academic progress in their final semester prior to transfer.
- Students transferring 60 or more credits will receive junior standing.
- Students must be enrolled full time and be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
- All required materials listed in Cornell's transfer application checklist must be submitted.
- Admission is competitive and selective. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with final decisions made by the CALS Selection Committee.
- Changing majors after enrollment is unlikely. Applicants with unmet prerequisites, course withdrawals or incompletes, or a history of part-time enrollment are less likely to be admitted.
Students may follow different transfer timelines based on advising and academic progress, including options to transfer earlier, before completing the associate degree, or after completing their degree at TC3. The map below is based on the transfer timeline whereby students complete their degree first at TC3 and start at Cornell in fall of their third year if accepted.
If students elect to follow an expedited transfer timeline, they may be eligible for reverse transfer, allowing coursework completed at Cornell to count toward completion of the TC3 associate degree.
CALS will consider applicable transfer credit for TC3 coursework completed with a grade of C or higher.
A maximum of 60 credits may transfer toward the 120 credits required for a bachelor’s degree. Credits transfer, but TC3 grades do not count toward the Cornell GPA.
