Become a proficient accountant ready to navigate real-world finance and business environments. In this program, you’ll learn bookkeeping, Excel modeling, tax regulations, GAAP standards, and financial analysis, building both technical and critical thinking skills. Graduates exit with a credential that opens doors to accounting, auditing, financial analysis, or further studies.
Where You’ll Go
Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
Loan Interviewers and Clerks
- Verify and examine information and accuracy of loan application and closing documents.
- Assemble and compile documents for loan closings, such as title abstracts, insurance forms, loan forms, and tax receipts.
- Record applications for loan and credit, loan information, and disbursements of funds, using computers.
- Submit loan applications with recommendation for underwriting approval.
New Accounts Clerks
- Perform teller duties as required.
- Compile information about new accounts, enter account information into computers, and file related forms or other documents.
- Collect and record customer deposits and fees and issue receipts, using computers.
- Inform customers of procedures for applying for services, such as ATM cards, direct deposit of checks, and certificates of deposit.
