Policies

Faculty/Staff and Students

Your TC3 ID Card is your library card. Full and part-time students can obtain photo IDs at the OneCard Office in Room 110. No library materials will be checked out without a valid TC3 Card.

Community Members

We welcome community residents to use our services. You can obtain a Community Borrower card by completing an application and providing proof of identification to library staff. If you are completing the application off-campus, we will contact you to verify your identification. Once approved, your new card will be mailed to you and you will be able to check out items.

Course Reserves

Course reserves are available at the Service Desk. Most reserve items may be used for 2 hours in the library. You must have a TC3 Card to use reserve items. Fines for late Reserve materials are 25 cents an hour, per item.

Books

Students and staff may check out regular books for the entire semester.

Circulating DVDs

Borrow leisure DVDs for three weeks.

Reminder Notices

Students and staff will receive due date reminders in their TC3 email.

Overdue Items

We do not charge overdue fines for regular books and movies.  However, you will be placed on the Library Stoplist if you fail to return materials you borrowed. You will be sent an invoice charging you a nonrefundable $15.00 processing fee for each item you did not return.

While you are on the Stoplist, you will not be able to borrow from the Library and you will not receive your TC3 transcript or diploma. You can be cleared from the Stoplist once you have returned what you've borrowed and paid processing and lost item fees.  It can take up to forty-eight hours to be cleared from the Stoplist.

Books can be returned to the library directly, to TC3 extension centers in Cortland or Ithaca, or mailed to: Tompkins Cortland Community College Library, 170 North St, P.O. Box 139, Dryden, NY 13053, Attn: Lucy Yang.  Use our prepaid shipping label.

You can also return library materials in the Library's drop slot. It can be used anytime the main TC3 building is open, even if the library itself is closed. The drop slot is located on the second floor, across from Room 250, near the red elevator. Please contact the Office of Public Safety at 607-844-6511 for specific building hours.

Periodicals

Magazines, journals, and newspapers must be used in the library.
