Campus Peace Officer Mike Thornton has been named the first Tompkins Cortland Community College Employee of the Month. The new program was created to recognize individuals who exemplify the values and mission of the College with their outstanding service and attitude. Nominations for the award are accepted from students, staff, or members of the community.

Thornton has worked in campus safety at TC3 for more than 30 years, touching the lives of thousands of people through the years. His friendly, outgoing personality makes him a favorite of both staff and students, and the respect and compassion he exhibits for everyone he encounters embodies the spirit of the College.

As the Employee of the Month, Thornton receives a gift certificate to a local business, a TC3 Employee of the Month tumbler, and exclusive use of the Employee of the Month parking spot.

Nominations can be made at any time for future Employees of the Month through an online nomination form.
